About Connally High School
Integrity. Loyalty. Honor.
These are the hallmarks of Connally High School, a 5A campus dedicated to academic excellence and fostering a culture where students value themselves and their peers. Home to 1,933 students and 208 staff members, CHS embraces diversity, providing students with real-world experiences reflective of their community.
“The diversity of our campus provides students with the experience to learn in an environment reflective of our community, therefore providing them with real-world experiences,” former Principal Daniel Garcia said.
CHS is committed to preparing students for post-secondary success, awarding approximately $7 million in scholarships annually. The school’s robust Career & Technology Education (CTE) programs—including Culinary Arts, Robotics, Video Game Design, Video Technology, and Health Science Technology—consistently earn state and national recognition. The Robotics team placed 28th in the World Competition last year, and the Video Technology program participated in the Cannes Film Festival.
Fine arts thrive at CHS, with programs in band, orchestra, choir, and theater. The band notably placed 4th in the State Competition in 2013. Athletes can compete in one or more of the school’s 31 athletic teams.
Connally High School is named after John Bowden Connally Jr. (1917–1993), a former Texas governor and U.S. Secretary of the Treasury. A key figure in Texas politics, Connally was wounded in the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He passed away in 1993 from pulmonary fibrosis at age 76.

From Our Community
I love that Connally High School embraces the culture of each child who walks into this building. Our school has built up an atmosphere of intention and togetherness within our student population. I felt that when I went to Connally, and I still see it in our classrooms and spaces now as a coach and teacher.
Student Testimonial - Maddie Tanwar. CHS has given me opportunities and advantages that I would not have at another PFISD school. The PTECH program here prepares me for going to college and entering the workforce with an Associates Degree. I also want to send a shout out to Mr. Felix Peterson. He is one of my favorite teachers here and he is the sponsor of our award winning Science Olympiad team. I participate in the Geology events and now plan to major in Geology in college because of Mr. Peterson and Science Olympiad.
Student Testimonial - Ronan Hartman. I really enjoy PTECH. This class builds on what I learned during the Asynchronous classes in the Covid years. The hybrid college classes continue to expand my education beyond high school and earn my Associates degree while in high school.
Student Testimonial - Zarya Foju. I love that CHS library has diverse books and not just Fiction books. I can learn anything in the library. Also, the after school activities in the library are fun. They have a new Multicultural club, a book club and a Chinese Mahjong club. I also enjoy my PTECH classes and fellow PTECH classmates.
Teacher Testimonial from Sandra Biles, CHS German teacher.
I love the diversity of the students and faculty. A UTSA college friend told me about Connally. It was exciting to start my first year as a teacher at a brand-new school. I have stayed here because I have been fortunate to always have wonderful colleagues to work with and because I love the kids here.
Teacher Testimonial - Mike Chaffin, CHS History Teacher. I love the students and staff at Connally High School. Every day that I am here I get to see the public perception and the stereotypes of CHS get proven wrong. I have stayed at Connally because I feel I do important work supporting and genuinely caring about the students and staff of our Connally family .
Teacher Testimonial from Shalonda Thomas, CHS Credit Recovery Teacher. I love the relationship I have with previous students and my new students. I came to Connally after working at Northwest Elementary. I was a band volunteer for 4 years while my daughter attended Connally. I loved the respect the past principals showed to us as volunteers. I have built lasting relationships with the staff and I love that connection. We are all like family.
The staff at Connally high school has been amazing. The teachers have always communicated with me very well when my kids are falling behind or struggling. I also have enjoyed the coaching staff for the kids. Admin has always stayed on top of things and did well handling any situation. Love Connally! Go Cougars!
I have two children at CHS, and soon to be three. I see the work that teachers and administrators, along side different parent groups like PTO, put in to make an amazing, educational environment for the kids.
